I would like to make the recipe with the recommended water chestnuts.

Nevertheless, they're a greater carbohydrate vegetable. The recipe calls for any ½ cup (one can) of sliced h2o chestnuts, which is thirteen net carbs.

Ingredients
  

  • oil for frying
  • 1 pound hamburger meat
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 8 ounces frozen cut green beans
  • 1/2 cup sliced water chestnuts optional drained
  • soy sauce tamari or coconut aminos

Instructions
 

  • Brown meat in skillet with garlic.
  • Add about 8 ounces of frozen green beans along with water chestnuts (these can add a bit more carbs).
  • Sprinkle soy sauce to taste. Continue to cook and stir until heated through.
